Just got this beauty in the mail today...a steal at the $35 bucks I paid considering My offer of $50 for just the hat was rejected by another seller and on this one I not only got the hat with the Fleer COA but the box and tractor trailer too!! Been wanting one of these since 2001! Enjoy!

Another Friday, another huge week in my Doerr collection!! Here we go with the adds!

First off is two signed 8x10s of Doerr in a Blue Jays Coaching uniform which anything is a Toronto uniform is hard to find (hopefully more on that next week!)
ImageUploadedByFreedom Card Board1409956930.441371.jpg

Then we have the 1991 Upper Deck Heroes Stadium giveaways-but this isn't your normal one as these both say SAMPLE instead of being numbered like those given away at the stadiums -I LOVE the art on these and had to add these to my collection
ImageUploadedByFreedom Card Board1409957525.799108.jpg

Then a 1974 Laughlin PSA 9 ( had an ungraded copy before)
ImageUploadedByFreedom Card Board1409957651.747153.jpg

Then a 1952 Berk Ross PSA 6 (look at how red this card is!)
ImageUploadedByFreedom Card Board1409957828.817126.jpg

And while we are at it how about 4 Bowmans...
ImageUploadedByFreedom Card Board1409957881.027199.jpg

Then a couple of Playballs...
ImageUploadedByFreedom Card Board1409957923.528469.jpg

Which is a good Segway into this...
ImageUploadedByFreedom Card Board1409957944.600822.jpg

As well as these...
ImageUploadedByFreedom Card Board1409957972.480252.jpg

Then we have this beauty!
ImageUploadedByFreedom Card Board1409958081.529673.jpg

Which is horribly off centered but I don't care because this is what the back looks like...
ImageUploadedByFreedom Card Board1409958195.578893.jpg

Yes ladies and gents a Playball Sample card! Never had seen one before so it was a must have!

Then we have these beauties which look great next to each other!
ImageUploadedByFreedom Card Board1409958272.464733.jpg

Then a little more modern.. #9 /20 with DP (got shill bidded and lost one so I went and got this one for cheaper...same day I got it in the mail the shill seller offered me a second chance lol..thanks but no thanks!)
ImageUploadedByFreedom Card Board1409958354.645203.jpg

Before a couple of odd ball adds...

2003 Cadaco HOF Baseball Disc

LOVE the vintage additions, Jeff. :D That Drake's Cookies is an incredibly tough one to find, congrats on that one! Really like the dual auto with Pedey, too....the absolute perfect autograph tandem (just wish Dustin had a nicer looking sig, lol!). Gotta love the artwork on the Perez Steeles, and they look good in slabs too! Ok I'll stop with the droolfest, but keep these mailday posts coming

I hope lots of people are taking advantage of Doerr's generosity and sending him lots of vintage cards for signature. There will never be enough of that when he is gone (where as there will be plenty of Pacific Legends and those types of cards).

If I could convince myself to shell out the bones, i'd like to send him a 38 Goudey, the 50 Drake and the 51 Topps cards for signature. I don't have any of those though and all are quite pricy in decent shape.

That they are Scotty... Very rare and when found condition is tough because of the black boarders..a PSA 9 Doerr went for $1750 at some point on the last few years!! Never had even seen one until a few weeks ago, and I'm glad to have it off the list now!

Thanks,
Jeff

I have a Goudey I'll have to dig out later. The Drake and Topps blue back would look amazing, but I'm happy with the normal ones in my collection to start since they are so hard to find at all (still trying for a blue back). Plus I've grown more picky on the one the card autos and think I could only bring myself to get one that is PSA slabbed.

But I am partial to the 1941 Playballs---was my first vintage Doerr and just love how the colors pop out or the card compared to the earlier cards!

Thanks,
Jeff

I hear ya, Jeff. 41' PB was actually the first prewar vintage card I purchased, and still one of my favorites!

It goes nicely with this one, which I didn't even know existed until this auction so had to have it..it's about half the size of the normal HOF postcard

Can't believe I've never seen or posted in this thread. Here are some of my favorites. The HOF postcard was sent to me in 2004, along with an autographed ball, through a friend of a family friend when they mentioned to Mr. Doerr that I was a deployed soldier (in my past life). Class act (it should be noted that Yaz also sent me an unsolicited autographed ball when I was deployed. Another example of a fine man).

Johnny, you have some great stuff in your bucket for your Doerr collection, including a couple I have never seen (nice Donruss 1/1 ;) lol).

And yeah I've been on a oddball role lately trying to hunt down the non mainstream stuff on my Doerr checklist. Crazy how hard some of the stuff from the 70s and 80s can be sometimes.

Thanks,
Jeff

Forgot to mention that I love these signed checks---it a more personal collectable to me than just a signed index card or a Pacific card. Always neat to look at who he was writing it to as well. These are my third one, and I'll continue to look to add more if the price is right ( there are few currently on eBay that are WAAAAAY higher than they should be and my offers have all been rejected :( )

Thanks,
Jeff

And the long time mystery bidder has been found..... Excuse me while I go pick my jaw up off the floor. Glad these went to a fellow board member thou-makes losing them a tiny bit easier lol.

Thanks,
Jeff

I'm hoping someone here hit the two national treasures booklets that went in less than 12 hours today---went in to put in my offer tonight and they were gonzo :(

Thanks,
Jeff

Definitely have seen an uptick in prices of Doerr cards lately.
I blame Jeff (@Doerrcollector) !!! :p

A few of my recents...

And one I've wanted for years....

While I would like to take credit, it's more than just me that's driving it up! I was shocked when the two National Treasures booklets went for the list BIN of $179 before I could even get in a offer! And that Distinguished has been on my list for a long time as well--nice pickup!! I'll be posting a few pickups tomorrow but backed off this week in anticipation of Doerr being in Panini HOF 75th which releases on the 8th.

Thanks,
Jeff
