Brandon Phillips collected his 2,000th career hit in the 1st inning.

Ender has 3 hits & 3 RBI in 3 innings (with a stolen base & run scored). He is top 10 in runs scored, stolen bases & 2nd in the league in hits (167). He is still on pace for a 200-hit season.

Freddie Freeman hit his 23rd HR of the season, along with a double, 2 runs scored & 2 RBI. Hopefully this will break him out of his current dry spell

Guess what? Ender led off Game 2 with another hit :D

That is a .309 avg & 170 hits on the season

Ender was a great get by Atlanta, and just about every team should be kicking themselves for not getting him and signing him to a similar extension. Comparatively, he might be one of the best nonrookie contracts in the majors.

Game 1 of doubleheader: 5-for-5 with a triple, walk, stolen base, run scored & 5 RBI
Game 2 of doubleheader (so far): 3-for-4 with a stolen base, RBI & run scored

He now has a .310 avg & .764 OPS with 172 hits

He is one hit shy of tying the all-time major league record for hits in a doubleheader

I had heard something similar reported by mlb.com & ESPN when they were both ranking the top contracts in baseball. I don't remember exact ranks but he was right near the top, if not the top.

Wow what a day by Ender! Can't get much better than that in a twin bill!

Ender has hits in 30 of his last 34 games & in the month of August (27 games) he has 42 hits (.362 avg)

With 30 games left in the season he is only 26 hits away from 200. He's on pace to reach 212 hits

2017 Season - .311 avg 10 HR 50 RBI .765 OPS 19 SB

Top 10 in hits, runs, stolen bases & batting avg. With gold glove defense to boot.

These are the core guys now we need to add talent with.

Don't see Kemp or Markakis being around all that much longer plus they are old. Phillips had a good year but again he's old and not the future. Would be nice to have a stud catcher for the next 5+ years.
