Even if it wasn't yours.

Since I don't deal in anything pricey, I don't have too many examples personally but here's a few which come to mind.

'52 topps mantle psa 1

A couple of '01 bowman chrome Pujols

Bowman chrome orange refractor auto Bryant

Raw Topps Pancho Herrer error

But the best of the best is probably this 1414459276794.jpg which someone years ago asked me if I had interest in buying (yeah, just a "little" out of my price range)

Don't own it, but met a guy who was giving it to an auction house and held it...actually only a few weeks ago.

Babe Ruth 1914 Baltimore News Graded 8/10

Easily a million dollar card

Kris Bryant and Pancho Herrera error card.

A Herrera (missing the "a" in last name) recently sold for over a grand in a psa 1.

That Ruth is ridiculous, wow.

For myself I don't know. Sad to say it's probably my most expensive Belle card haha

Real:

Bought 2011 Bowman Sterling-Archie Bradley 1/1 AU for great price and sold it for $800 the day if came in the mail.

What could have been:

Bought an ungraded 2009 Bowman Chrome - Trout AU REF. It got a 9.5/10 in a FCB monthly sub and sold it for considerably less than what it went for a peak value (I'm seeing $1,900 back in August). Guessing I sold in the $250 range.

I can't remember the exact card, but I watched a buddy of mine pull the best Mantle card from the first Leaf Best of Baseball. 2010 I think it was, and I think it was a high-grade early 50's card. Pretty nice.

Was it the auto'd 52 Topps? I remember when BG bought that at the national and was showing it off.

This is mine, well not mine but I got to hold it. Lol

In a slab, I held the T206 Wagner at a National many years ago. Gives ya goosebumps!

Actually holding a card in my hand, a dealer once let me hold an 1888 Old Judge "Dogs Head" Cabinet variation, so I could get a sense of what the proper paper and printing felt like. $20,000-$25,000 card.

Showing them my CapAnson.com website, some vintage dealers have been very considerate and let me examine some nice cardboard, like the 1888 Goodwin Champions, whose colors are amazing in person!

I held a mint Alpha Black Lotus (Magic card) several times. Back in the mid-90s, a comic shop had one for sale for $250 and all their MTG singles were 20% off. It sat there quite a while. That card is now worth about $25K. Why was I so poor at the time?

More recently, BGS 9.5 09 BC Trout Orange Refractor is probably it. In January 2013 I think, at the Houston Tri-star show. I had about $1000 cash left and I was looking at it thinking it might be my big dollar pickup for the day. I had no idea what they were going for, and I think he quoted me $5500. I almost dropped it, thinking surely it was just the most naked overreaching I ever heard of. Today, of course, it'd be quite a bargain.

Wait... you pulled this? Let me guess, started at $0.99 auction with no reserve?

Sorry, had to... I have now seen you post this card up five times since basically midnight last night. Great card, nice pull, good luck with the auction but give pounding the table around the board a little break man.
