I was thinking of getting that 98 Donruss Preferred Great Expectations sample off ebay, but I'm burnt on paying more in shipping than the card itself. Gonna wait on that.

Cardman - 20 uncut sheets? You gonna donate them to the cause? ;-)

Hey Dan and Aaron, do you have these uncut sheets Cardman has?

I've had one for a while but not sure I purchased it from cardman. To me it's really flimsy feeling. Doesn't feel like the same thickness as the regular cards.

predatorkj I have to agree with you I have some that are cut also and I don't think they are the same myself, but here is another thought 100 years from now most of these flimsy things will be long gone , only the people who took good care of them will have them all the rest will be gone or in crappy shape , then they will be worth something (to bad I will be long gone by then...lol).

Found another variant in my doubles box...

I'm thinking I need to make a Variants tab on my site for these beauties.

As far as I know the 1991 Stadium Club Members Only and Charter Members all have this * and **. Bazooka might and the 1992 Topps/McDonald's black gold does too. Any of the Topps white glossy All Star does too. Not sure if Bags is in those or not?

Sent from my DROID X2 using Freedom Card Board mobile app

And these are the four cards I got from MidniteFrogs listings last week... Small fries compared to some of the others he had listed, but I got what I could.

Without being handed it personally by Jeff himself, or a member of the Astros staff you trust, how does one know they are legit? Never heard of Hunt Auctions. And for that much money, it better come signed to begin with.

Hunt is a premier auction house for high end cards and memorabilia; that said, I believe he's sold them. Companies the Mears and PSA authenicate gamers by the known characteristics of a player's equipment; but, like with autographs, unless you're there, you're never 100%. Around here in Houston, $100 for game used Bags items is a darn good price.

Not sure what it was because I can't see much from the link but yeah, I've been quoted like $1000 for game used bats or jersey's. So his prices are crazy. I'll probably never own a full game used anything from Bagwell and at those prices...I'll just have to deal with it. But I did hear back when he was still playing, it was somewhat easy to nab an item at the shed out there at Minute Maid. Unfortunately all the games I went to when he was still playing, I never even knew they had GU stuff out there. Plus I wasn't really collecting at the time. But based on what they were selling GU Berkman bats out there for, I'd say Bags would have cost at least $400-$500 for a bat. Now? Who knows?

New pickups:

99 Topps Tek Gold Proofs
I still think these look pretty cool, glad I picked them up

2006 Upper Deck Spectrum Silver /25
Not sure how I feel about the IKON slab. I hadn't seen one of these surface before so I figured I should grab it. I would like to break it out of the slab, but think I'm too nervous I may damage the card.

2002 Upper Deck MVP Gold /25
Only one of these I've seen surface. All the parallels in this set seem pretty tough to come by.

2004 Fleer Sweet Sigs Quad Patch /35
I already have one, but coudn't pass up the nice bagwell patch at that price.

Thanks for the look
Dan

1998 Bowman Chrome Reprints Refractors. Didnt have it scanned as I was organizing my 1998 cards last night.

I also realized that cards I had scanned long ago dont look too hot. I rescanned a handful, and I believe once I get thru double checking my PC, I may rescan a bunch of cards. I know I want to redo my Teks. All in due time.
