I have been away from the boards for a couple of years, but this experience made me want to share with you guys. Two weeks ago I was in Monterrey, Mexico were the Padres hosted the Dodgers for a three game series. The first MLB game in Mexico since 1999 and only third occasion (1996 was the first Series and 1999 was Opening Day). Since MLB announced I made my mind that I had to be there, so I planned this trip for 6 months.

Of course the photo-op at the entrance of the stadium

A couple of weeks before May, I was googling the Series to have as much info as possible when I stumbled upon Starwood Preferred Guest Moments website and saw they had Mexico Series Experiences for auction. One of those was watching BP from the field for Game 1. I've never been on one of those so I bought some rewards points, bid and hoped for the best. I was lucky enough to win the experience for two. Unfortunately, the Dodgers decided not to take BP but at least we were on the field for a MLB game (my first time) and we got to meet Kenley Jensen.

I started to notice the No-No when the 5th ended. I was surprised Buehler was still out there with the wet mound issues of the first inning and how dominant he had been in the last couple of innings. I didn't know if he was going to be out for the 6th as he had made a lot of pitchers in the first two innings, coming from TJ and being their top prospect, but he did. He had another dominant inning and it went to the bullpen. I knew Jansen was unavailable as he had pitched three days in a row in Phoenix, but I was hoping to see their setup men there (Fields, Stripling, Chargois) but instead came two guys that hadn't pitched a lot in the season for the 8th and 9th. Surprisingly for me, they kept striking out Padres until out 27 and there it was, my first No-No on site. A combined no-hitter, the first in Dodger history and only 12th in MLB history. In a game that I was praying to not be suspended, I saw history in the end.

As a bonus, I knew Zack Hample was going to be there, so I went prepared.

I will definitely try, great memories from here. Collection is doing good, adding cards with almost every release and still have at least one auto from every Mexican born in MLB.
