Wonder why he left the Sox for the same position.
ESPN's articles says:

"Boston's president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski has the final say on baseball decisions. As executive vice president and general manager of the Diamondbacks, Hazen will have the authority.

So Hazen didn't have full control over decisions in Boston and probably didn't like being overruled by Dombrowski. He'll have complete control in Arizona.

Hazen is from Massachusetts, so having Dombrowski over his shoulder must have bothered him enough to leave his home.

Makes sense. So, that means no one will be replacing La Russa.
