Ok people, there has been a lot of talk about doing a 90s group break. thejackaryman8 55_marlins_sp MansGame gracecollector AUTaxMan gradedeflator , you guys recently mentioned this also. And I know there was interest from some of the people who were in the Vintage Group break with Bill Menard
I have been working on getting wax put together, here is my list. I would like anybody who is interested in doing this to let me know on this list if there are any complete "we def don't want this to be a part", or and "yeah, we would actually want more than 1 box of this to be a part". And a "what about adding this missing box also".
Some stuff like 96 Certified, 97 Pinnacle Inside, 98 Tek which I know people want, I can't locate, if anyone knows where they may be, lmk and maybe we can add it

Any help/suggestions is appreciated

I tried to put together a list of items that could land some nice 90s items for collectors etc. There is 50-60 boxes on here, we don't have to do that many, but it could be fun. Right now I would like to do it as a Team Break, you buy the team, and get every card from every box from the team you purchase ! There are some possible big time / rare hits plus all the other stuff to bring the 90s back. Depending on the final size of the break, it would be somewhere between $1-$5 per team per box. So say we do 30 boxes, I would be like $30 - $150 plus shipping etc per team slot depending on the team. These are just estimates. I would also give people time to sell players from their teams to player collectors, or vice versa players collectors sell the other player they aren't interested to the team collectors.

**Also curious if there is much interest in a "premium" 90s early 00s break (Where boxes cost $100-300 each and slots would be expensive) and do a random hit draft or team

Anyway, let me know suggestions / comments (good n bad) etc

Thanks
Ryan

'98 Donruss / Donruss Update had the Crusades in them :p

Didn't see that on your list. I'm fine with anything. Would possibly even want the Marlins from this timeframe too, because of the Kotsay / Dunwoody / D.Lee collections.

For what I've seen they don't "fit" this range of boxes. They def could be in the premium one if it was ever done. And with teams like the Marlins I am sure as I break down team costs they'd fall closer to the $1 per box side l, pretty good risk/reward I think.

Sounds fun, I'd probably play along. Still wondering how exactly you'd do the price breakdown on something like this

You know I'm in! I'm gonna be putting in about 90 hours this next week as well as the week after so I'm not gonna be around much to help look up any of this stuff but I'm definitely in for a few breaks! Orioles...all day baby!

I'm working on pricing but basically I'm structuring it by figuring out each box then adding it all up. I look at what each team has an opportunity to hit and go from there. Say with the Brewers, they would probably fall closer to the $1-2 per box. So if I broke 40 boxes, estimate would be $40-80 range for every Brewer in those 40 boxes.

It's all good, I think I've got most of the things on this list located. I'd like to see how much interest there is. To do I'd like to be able to sell 75% or so of the teams. So if any of you guys know team / player collectors, push em to show interest so we can get this going

Kinda interested, but I may priced out... THat's a lot of boxes!

I'm trying to gauge what range people would want to do. It doesn't have to be all, what's people's max? Say for the Padres I'm just guessing at this point, but prob in the $3 range per box, so 30 -40 boxes $90-120 and you'd get every Padre.

Looking for opinions and I can structure it. I'm estimating the Mariners, Orioles Yankees, etc would be in the 5+ range per box, And the rest fall under that.

I will try to post a structure for each team by tomorrow estimating 40-50 different boxes.

I can structure it depending on what people feel is enough boxes. I'd say if you were doing the Padres it would be like $3 per box and if we did 50 boxes it would be $150 for every Padre in those 50 boxes.

Lmk thoughts..

That's what I am afraid of, personally, I think at $90-$120 that's way out of my range... there's a ton of Gwynn cards I could buy, that I need, if I had that much laying around. Not saying it wouldn't be fun, though, so there that...I would just have to see it all when it's ready to go. If it was four boxes, and Padres cost me $15, I could swing that easily enough. Does that make sense? I am no way putting down what you are doing, just letting you know where I was at.
You already have done a ton of work just compiling that list!!

Depending on the price, I might be in for the astros. It depends on how much and when. If you did it like right now, no. But if it was in a few weeks, or better yet, a month or more, I might be aboard. And yes...If I get a Kile 1/1 or something similar, it goes to Therion automatically.

I don't know if I will take it down to that low, but well see. I'm going to see how response is the next 3-4 days. My response to the Bernie is , I'd allow time for people to sell parts of their slots. Meaning if you bought the Yanks you could try and sell of the non Bernie part, or see if a person who collects Jeter, Mariano etc buys the Yanks and you try to buy the spot for his Bernie's from them.

EX I am going to take the Rangers, and try to sell off the Non Will Clark portion to someone who collects the other players.

Maybe if I find that people are more player focused and not enough team collectors, I can try to break it down by players. Then any non requested players could be grouped into teams.

Like I said I'll listen to suggestions, I'd like to see something happen n see if someone can land some nice pieces.

I'm probably looking at the actual break in 3-4 weeks.

Do people think a player break is more realistic for them to buy in?

It would be pretty awesome to just buy Ripken since I don't do anything with other base. The only reason I like doing teams is because of the other inserts of teammates like Belle or Murray, etc.

pred, if you wanted to split whatever it ends up costing for the Astros (assuming it falls in a reasonable range) I would be down. He could send it all to you and then you could send my half to me.
