These are not your selections......you calculated for my pitchers (but also missed a last name that ended in 'R'). This is why we got different pitchers for the SP4 slot. hal newhouser is the 11th pitcher with his last name ending in 'R'. You needed to select the 10th pitcher which would be Orel Hershiser.

I took another look at the field, and wiggly is using the correct codes. His entry in the signup thread (post #32) matches the field exactly. Apparently, you used his codes. Please compare your entry (post #27) with the field.

NOTE: I just took a close look at wiggly's score. The 10th pitcher whose name ends in an R is actually Ryan Dempster. Look it up! Also, since Dempster had time in the minors, you have to filter for MLB stats only. There's a button right at the top of his stats page (ALL, MLB, Minors). Dempster had 89 strikeouts in year 23.

So:

Starting Pitcher 1: c4,h12 : (c4=l3)juan marichal)(h) : (h12=l8)walks allowed(s8=42)(-2.5x)
42(-2.5)=(-105)
Starting Pitcher 2: b2,r7 : (b2=e3)timothy keefe(h) : (r7=g18)innings pitched(s18=619)(4x)
619(4)=2476
Starting Pitcher 3: a8,w11 : (a8=r10)ryan dempster : (w11=k23)strikeouts(s23=89)(3x)
89(3)=267

Starting Pitcher 4: g7,f4 : (g7=r6)orel hershiser : (f4=d6)era.01<>4.00(s6=2.26)(3x)
4.00-2.26=1.74x100=174x3=522
Starting Pitcher 5: j9,d6 : (j9=y1)gaylord perry(h) : (d6=f4)hr allowed(s4=21)(-5)
21(-5)=(-105)
(-105)+2476+267+522+(-105)=3055

Starting Pitching Total:3055

As you can see, it's good to have another pair of eyes spot check each other's work as we go along.

Ghumbs: Eddie Plank is a HOFer, so his line is 480. Your overall score is -201
Wainwright: Bert Blyleven is a HOFer. While it won't help his score now, you'll want to keep track of your HOFers at the end of the game.

Otherwise, everyone is doing well. I'll post an updated leaderboard shortly.

Here's an updated leaderboard. The numbers in red are HOFers.

If you didn't have a great start, don't lose hope. Not only is there a lot left to be scored, but the trade deadline may shake things up. In fact, the owner pairings and positions to be traded between them have already been determined and were 100% randomly generated.

I'll keep this open for most of today to give everyone a chance to catch up. However, even if I move on to a new thread, folks can always go back and enter their score for that round in that thread.

Here`s the full schedule of future rounds:

Closers
C,1B,2B
3B,SS
LF,CF,RF
Bench
Trade Deadline
Managers
Ballparks
Bonus Scoring

Yeah I knew that. I just forgot to note it. I did multiply 0 by the HOF number of 30. Which for some reason still equaled 0 :0)

No worries, Jedi. Thanks for the correction.

I'm about to move on to the next thread. If these folks would still like to play, you can enter your starting pitcher score in this thread at anytime.

Also, what happens if your first letter doesn't have a pitcher with the last letter? I have J4 as my SP4 first code but I don't see a pitcher with a last letter of the last name of J. I may have over looked it though.

Your code for your SP4 says J10 which equates to Z5 on the Grid Livan Hernandez

Two more questions:

1. For innings pitched...I have 67.1x2 (non HOF). Do I do 67x2 or 671x2?
2. For ERA less than 4.00...I have 2.99. Do I take the difference from 4.00 and do 1.01 then do 101x6 (HOF)?

I hope that makes sense.

SP1: (D7, J12) D7=R3 -> Jaimie Moyer (Reg); J12=L10 -> walks allowed = 38x-5= -190
SP2: (A9, J4) A9=S9 -> Kid Nichols (HOF); J4=D10 -> ERA of 2.99; 4.00-2.99=1.01x100= 101x6= 606
SP3: (C3, R13) C3=G2 -> Jim Bunning (HOF); R13=B7 -> Completed Games 12x20= 240
SP4: (J10, S7) J10=Z5 -> Livan Hernandez (Reg); S7=G19 -> Innings Pitched 67.1x100= 671x2= 1342
SP5: (B4, U11) B4=L2 -> Rube Waddell (HOF); U11=B12 -> Completed Games 16x20= 320

-190+606+240+1342+320= 2318

I'm still not sure if I did Innings Pitched correctly so I may need to change it if not.

Nah...pretty sure it's just 2 points per inning pitched (for non-HOF) 67.1 x 2 = 134.2
