Happy 2017 from FCB!

Well 2016 was kinda crappy right? A Gorilla died and it was all down hill from there.

The Hobby saw some memorable events as The Topps Company pushed out a $27,000 per box product.
Mixed reviews as a sealed product but it's great for singles buyers.

Mouschi (Tanner) created a really unique product based around custom cards.

Beckett Grading Services has changed some of their timing policies.

Pretty much all the good and bad stuff has made it to our anything goes forum.

Looking forward to 2017!

Personally, the last two years have Suuuuucked, lost both parents and two jobs, but things are quickly turning around. Mrs. has a Great new job and I hope to follow soon.

It'll be nice to have more than $10 to spend on a new project or two...

I just looked at the threads in that forum and every thread is literally Phillyfan and homerun28aa arguing with each other for multiple pages.
I'll stick to the baseball cards forum.

I tried to look at that forum and I got the following message:

deaconblues63, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?

Sounds like I might not have missed much though.

Surprised Harambe wasn't the word of the year. I would like to go the rest of my lifetime without hearing that word or about the idiots who name their kids Harambe.

Anyway, I know my collecting won't include Decision 2017 trading cards (as they won't be made). I'm digging the Decision 2016 product although disappointed series 2 is so limited in its production. My sister wants to flush my in-progress set down the toilet while I enjoy the documentation of all the political parties and newsworthy events in the election.

I suppose 2017 will bring fewer sets to buy or build as Topps either makes them stupidier than ever before, changes their distribution to direct or through retailers that don't stock cards in my neighborhood store -- making hand collated sets harder to find to buy, or Panini changes the configuration of the product such as EEE that it's not worth it to me to build a set where only 999 copies of each base card exist.

In 2017, I have to watch my PC guy play for another team (Mets, unless he's traded...again). I have found out that competing against Mets fans for cards will cost you $$$.

I'll stick to buying my singles and hopefully I'll resist the 'Heritage' bug.
