No doubt about Allard. I saw him pitch against Lakewood and he was special, but this assignment is aggressive considering his previous injury history as an amateur. I'm also shocked about Soroka. I also saw him throw. That kid is a control freak, but this assignment seemed aggressive as well. Hope it all works out!

A little birdie just confirmed this info for me an hour ago

Completely unexpected. Allard is an extremely talented young starter with frontline potential but I think moving him up this quickly may hinder his progress and the development of his pitches when he's constantly being outmatched. I have a feeling it won't be long until they bring him down to hi-A. Don't get me wrong, I hope that I'm wrong because I love this kid, as he's one of the most well-rounded pitchers out there.

Soroka also surprises me as I assumed that he'd start the season in hi-A. Fried is where he should be.

Interesting read. I still feel like this move might hinder Allard & Soroka's progress. It won't do any good to their confidence if they end up getting beat to hell.

I suppose I should just trust Coppy's gut instinct.
