Bracket 1 is now open.

I love my card...but I think I drew the short straw in getting Zan out of the gate. These are awesome cards...

We have a quad relic /25 with 2 HOFers

Against a triple relic of HOFers /50

I call my card "2 HOFers and 2 Gophers" for obvious reasons. But, I love the colors and crispness of the patches.
Zan tell us about your card!

As cool as the 3 hof card is, the gehrig stripe mixed with two bats kinda ruins it for me. Don't get me wrong I'd love to have it for the PC but the quad with its patches has more visual appeal to me.

I picked this card because it showcases the top 1st basemen of the 1930s. Offensive numbers were off the charts for these players in the era. The MVP races amongst these players were highly competitive.

1938 MVP
Greenberg .315/58HR/147RBI/1.122 OPS 3rd in voting
Foxx .349/50HR/175RBI/1.166 OPS 1st in voting

1937 MVP
Greenberg .337/40HR/184RBI/1.105 OPS 3rd in voting
Gehrig .351/37HR/158RBI/1.116 OPS 4th in voting

1935 MVP
Greenberg .328/36HR/168RBI/1.039 OPS 1st in voting
Gehrig .329/30HR/120RBI/1.049 OPS 5th in voting
Foxx .346/36HR/115RBI/1.096 OPS 11th in voting!!:?

I like the history behind it, and the stripe in the Gehrig swatch is very cool to me.

I really like the quad though! Superb card

Damn this is a tough one for me to decide on. The triple has three AMAZING historic players, and the stripe on the Gehrig jersey is so nice especially being in the middle of the card. The quad patch is fantastic as well as all four players has an actual patch with color breaks as well as jersey showing. Both have HOFers on them too. I am going with the quad patch on this round, I favor Nolan Ryan and I favor patches although the triple has three great players! The kicker for me is the two bat pieces on the triple, I really wish the Foxx had a glove piece as that would have definitely been a winner for me (sorry Zan !!!).

I'll go with the Triple on this.

As much as the bat pieces aren't "wow", the 2 non-HOFers on the Quad hurts it more.

Quad relic for me.

I like the visual appeal of the card, and having Ryan and Smoltz on it is enough to tip the balance.

The triple relic is a bit dull looking.

There are several other reasons I am picking the quad relic, but those reasons don't need to be outlined here.

The quad patch card looks nice but there are many cards like this and it'll be made again

The triple is Gehrig, Fox and Greenberg! My vote for sure. Aside; Zan I dig your collection and if you are ever in Philly drop me a line. We can have a brewski and talk cards, I dig your style in collecting!

I wish the scans/pics were better for both cards.

I cant tell what the relics are in the 3-HOF triple relic. I cant see the foil names in the quad relic. In person, they both probably look great.

As for player selection: I choose the 3-HOF's
As for relic selection: I choose the quad.
NOTE: If the Gehrig is indeed a uniform swatch then I may change my mind.

One thing I don't like about a quad relic/auto card is they become too crowded. Triple relic/auto's are busy enough but to squeeze a fourth on there really make for a busy card.

I choose the 3-HOF's relic based on the fact as mentioned above about quad relics/autos being too crowded.
