Thanks to our phones, we have a card shop in our pockets at all times.

The only one I can really think of was here:

I was at the American Ninja Warrior event watching the ninjas do their thing a few years ago. I hopped on my phone and saw this beauty: 2000 Skybox Star Rubies Extreme /50

Honorable mention goes to me winning this card while on the road to Jose's house :)

What is the strangest place you were when you picked up a card online, and what was it?

I don't have anything strange really, mostly just work or home, once on the T going into Fenway, but the most dangerous was certainly a few years back when I had an auction ending during my anniversary dinner with the wife. I was planning to excuse myself to the bathroom but she ended up doing the same so I won it at the table.

Is that Brent Steffensen? I love ANW! I remember landing a 2004 Leaf Exhibits of Puckett that I needed at Wal*Mart. I still need 15 of them to complete the 88 card run.

I was sitting in a jury room deciding the fate of a DUI offender. The State of Ohio didnt procure evidence such as a blood alcohol test against the defendant. While we were discussing the alcohol test between jurors, the eBay app buzzed my phone. I looked at it and bought the card. We returned a verdict of not guilty on the DUI charge but guilty of resisting arrest and trying to bribe the cop.

I'd Need Pretty Deep Pockets To Carry My Phone With Me........... Not To Mention A Few Miles Of Phone Cord

When a customer left his cell phone in my store, I scrolled through his saved numbers, stopped at "Mom" and pushed send. His mother answered, and I told her what happened.

"Don't worry," she said, "I'll take care of it."

A few minutes later, the cell phone rang. It was "Mom."

"Martin," she said, "you left your cell phone at the convenience store."

I've won a string of auctions while cruising up I-5. I've also won a group of auctions while at my wife's little brother's 8th grade graduation.
