Any idea on this '89 Bull Durham card?

Yet another promo card I can't find any info on.

It's not the larger card which I believe was from gatorade.

They were cards advertising the release of the movie on VHS. Yes, a band new VHS tape cost $89.98. I was working in video store at the time of the release and we gave the cards away.

I worked at one a few ears later than this. If I recall correctly this had to do with Rental Stores correct? I don't think we ever carried any releases until the price went down but I was under the impression that rental shops were given a few months to make revenue before the tapes were mass released at a more normal price range. How times have changed. I'm a little surprised theaters still exist

Yea, new VHS tapes cost stores like Video Xpress and Blockbuster a arm and a leg. That's the man reason you had late fees. At 2.50 a rental, you wouldn't have made any money until about the 38 rental. Those Bull Durham cards were released in packs of six.

I remember this card and received it back in the late 80's when I saw the movie in the theater. No idea on value though.

I got them at the theater as well. I remember a couple of the other cards: one with Nuke Laloosh on the mound in his garters (from the dream sequence) and one of the young blonde groupie in her wedding dress.

I have the other set, but had not seen this one before. I love oddball stuff and i'd add a set to my collection if one came around at a reasonable price.
