Near Philly
Posey? Molina? He WAS the best hitting catcher in the game up to his injuries.

Posey is the only who's really even close. Molina and Ruiz had great hitting years, but nowhere near the Career BA.

But even without Morneau most of the time lately, he's still a fantastic hitter and IMO, until Posey proves it for 6+ years like Mauer has, Mauer is the best Current hitting Catcher...

I could see Posey getting there despite the sample size being pretty small, but no way is Yadi on the same level as Mauer. Mauer is a career .323 hitter with 3 batting titles. Molina is a career .279 hitter with 0.

Kardkollector46 good call on Stanton, a cornerback on the football field (at 6'5"), 500' homers on the baseball field, and also a generally massive human being.

C'mon now with all the QB mentions. Best athletes in the world are NFL Left Tackles. They're asked to protect the most visible players in their sport while sliding backwards and taking on 4.5 speed defensive ends. Really think about it. It's a position that you get absolutely no real experience playing until organized sports. Everyone shoots hoops, hits balls, throws and catches a football. How many kids do kick slides in their back yard for fun?

Interesting how there are dozens of responses for baseball, yet if we were to ask basketball, it's overwhelmingly one guy.

Surprised no one has mentioned Carl Crawford. He's insane athlete. Almost played QB at Nebraska or PG at UCLA, and until recently was one of the best players in the game.
