The crazy part of it is, he has had 3-4 jerseys cut up. Donruss cut up his 1964 jersey along with some pant later years pants (1970s), Ud cut up a late 60s home pants as well as later years jersey (1970s) and Topps cut up Later years jersey (1970s).

You're absolutely right - his pants and jerseys without patches go for pocket change. I wouldn't worry about Kaline, I am sure that one of the next big HOF products will feature his patches. They have to be stashed somewhere. Another guy who was super rare but then had more come out is Durocher.

He's definitely one of the rarer guys; if you didn't collect HOF patches you would think oh Kaline will be an easy one to knock off my list. Not so much, here is my one and only example - but I think it's a pretty solid one compared to other ones I've seen out there - it's low numbered as well forget exactly to what though.

Why can't you find any patches then? He is basically impossible to land patchest for?

Well I know that 64 jersey dint have a nameplate and I suspect the same for the other jerseys. In addition to that Kaline was a small dude, he wore a size 40. Im not 100% sure that they sized the patches to the players jersey but that would explain in addition to why his patches are rare. You notice with the Donruss pieces they are not very big slices in the cards.

Another guy whos rare is Nellie fox and Richie ashburn!

There was an article in Beckett many years ago about old jerseys and it was stated in there that older Tigers and Phillies GU jerseys were extremely difficult to find. Which does seem to be true as there are very few 50s and 60s patch cards of those teams.

Any idea why there are no Hank Greenberg jersey cards?

This will sound dumb, but Greenberg jerseys are just incredibly rare. A lelands auction in 2003 sold a 1948 Indians Greenberg gamer from his final playing days. They state in their auction it is the only know hank Greenberg gamer in existence. It is quite possibly his gamers are even more rare then babe Ruth. I would not expect to see any in the future.
