Such a cool card with the dual MLG logoman patches.

My criticism of 5-star is the chipping on the cards. This is, in my opinion, unacceptable on a product with a price point of $500 per box. If I am spending that much on a box of cards, I at least expect each card to be protected with a toploader and sleeve, if not encapsulated in some way. It's not as if the chipping is an isolated incident on a few cards, but rather, it across the entire print run. This is not acceptable.

I could never afford Topps Five Star on my own, but I really love the look of the cards - the plaque design on the dark background really makes the players pop off the cardboard! Usually with high-end products, smaller-market teams like my Arizona Diamondbacks usually take a back seat to the Yankees or Red Sox, but in Five Star, there are a few stud Diamondbacks like this one I found on Ebay:

I would like to own this, as I'm a big Konerko collector. That said, I do not feel that a player like Konerko belongs in a $500/pack product. There are a lot of fan favorite players in the set, not necessarily superstars, which is great for a collector-based set, but not really an investor's set. Having a GU card #'ed /92, when the base cards are #'ed /80, is another product flaw. Seems backwards to me, but I suppose a product that looks like nice can get away with a few issues.

Can't wait to see the Griffey autos when they are live! Love the multi-patch cards in this product, wish they had done one with old-timers (i.e. Koufax, Kaline, Musial, etc.) It's nice to see high-end baseball finally.

As an angels fan, I love this card. I won't be opening much, due to the price, but I will be buying singles and a few rookie autos(harper,lawrie).

For an Angels fan, getting a Trout/Pujols or Weaver/Trout together is great for the PC and a card my 6 year old son will love.
Id love to some day see a 4 auto book with Carew, Salmon, Trout, Pujols or even a six auto with Weaver, Ryan, Carew, Trout, Salmon, Pujols.
Either would be a dream card for an angels fan.

I think the player selection is great and much improved over a few of the high end products in 2011.
Only area to work on, is the card conditioning. Some don't mind it, but I can be a little picky.

I know I might catch some slack for this but in "My opiton" I think this might just be the sweetest card in the set. A 2012 TOPPS FIVE STAR BOOK ALBERT PUJOLS/MIKE TROUT AUTO PATCH 06/10 4COL, which is wrong, its a "partial logo patch, with 4-color Relic, and double Auto, of Trout and Pujols. I mean one day this card could be worth shot who knows. I say both stay couarse and go HOF. Depending on Trout could be worth $50,000 inn 20 years...
