Yeah, those diamond kings definitely should have been art work but I like the others.

I think the Donruss logo is a little to large on each of them. Other than that, I like them.

Those Team MVPs are an unneeded disaster. The Studio are ehh , the DK I like. I think though with the overall Donruss 2014 they crossed over too many years to retro design

Looking at them, they dont even come close to there original designs of the old donruss. Without artwork the diamond kings are horrible.

I see your point but think that is what Panini was trying to do. Just as mentioned here in a thread about Topps, cancel some products and roll the good inserts into Flagship.

I know the DK are not artwork but I like the look for the "new" Donruss. Again, I will bust

I understand , and regarding the DK , that's one that I liked. I just feel if your going to use 3-5 different years of retro looks in one years product, you will eventually run out and 10 years later the idea will come back. Just surprised they didn't go with say the Elite/Dominators and maybe 1 other retro year.

The 89 Design looks horrible the way they did the text IMO and shoulda been scraped.

Overall it does have some cards that look nice though and could be a nice relaunch

I'll just say this - - - if they weren't going to art work the DKs, then why even bother to choose the design? There are so many Donruss designs from over the years they could have went with. They didn't need to take this concept and not run with it as the original design.

It was always one of the coolest features of Donruss in the early days. Would have loved to see some nice art work with the DK design applied to current players.

Donruss diamond kings are synonymous with artwork, plain and simple. There's no reason to make new ones with photos.

I understand the mvp design, these are different because they have to hide hat logos.

They have the scans up for a few of the elite as well as the dominators kind of a 93 look.

Garbage, plain and simple. Not sure if he's even in it, but more than likely s few more Gwynn cards I don't want but will take at Free or Slightly-Above-Free level... Anyone who likes this junk are either baseball card apologists that are trying to be positive to "save" the hobby or blind card collectors. Yeah, you sellers are going to say, "But people will buy it"... Big deal. It's still garbage. Congrats that you can sell it.

Yeah, these are pretty awful. If I really wanted to see that 1989 design again, I'd just buy a box of the real thing and aim for some gem mint Griffeys. Like others have pointed out, the DKs should be art. The only one I like is the Studio.

I just don't get why they don't try to advance the DKs. DK has such a rich history...it definitely has the most potential to make an impact. They should be constantly pushing those forward into the new era, not just regurgitating old designs.

Also, not sure if anyone has seen the Elite Series autos, but those actually look pretty sweet.

This.

I am one of the biggest DLP fans on this board, but all this logoless crap needs to stop.

I did not like NT that everybody went nuts over either.

I hate some of the buyback and dominator autos - signed in blue pen on a dark area so the sig is hard to see. Panini should have had a silver sharpie for those so the auto would pop on the darker image.

The new thing I saw in a recent panini blog posting that I absolutely love is the back of the cards are similar to the mid-late 1980's donruss run - with the full name including middle name (not just the player first/last name) and the stats box of stats from the most recent seasons and the multi-line blurb about the player personally or what he has done on the field.
