Looks like I'll be snowed in for a few days here in the hills of western Mass. I'll have some time to get ready to mail some cards out!

Got in the following misc. 1998 Teks since the beginning of the year. Anyone interested in any of them, PM me or, even better, e-mail to [email protected]. $1.75 each except the Jeter and McGwire cards are $3.00 each. One card for $1.75 gets you the card in a PWE and a toploader; two cards or more come in a padded mailer with the cards protected in plastic. 4 or more cards, take 25% off your lot. (Will mail to Canada.) All cards have been kept in UltraPro sleeves since I got them. Don't see any damage on any of the cards. Payment via PayPal only please to user ID [email protected].

Anyone just started or interested in starting collecting a set of 90 of a new player? I can get you halfway there with 45 or more extra patterns for any of the 51 players listed below. Sure beats picking up patterns one at a time and paying $3.00 or $4.00 for postage for each transaction. Any Quinton McCracken relatives out there? I've got 75 extra patterns from his set of 90!

If really interested, PM or, even better, e-mail to [email protected]. I'll give you a count and a price with postage for the lot per player.

Gah, picked up another Mcgwire diffractor, turned out to be listed as the wrong pattern (was #1 not #1 3). Considering the other #1 cost the same I guess I'll just bite my tongue and hope I find a trade partner to swap for it.

It still boggles my mind that between Rich and I we have I think 85 total McGwire diffractors but only 54 are unique. 31 duplicates between us...

Probably a gratuitous post, but where else do you find these? I'm still looking for these Alomar patterns, willing to pay $10 each delivered. Lemme know if these are floating around your duplicates boxes...

1,2,5,11,13,23,34,36,38,41,45,49,52,63,64,66,70,82,83

One of my desperation tactics when I was down to needing 5 or so was to check out the pictures of every single player lot on eBay. I found many RJ lots with a '98 TEK pictured but never one I needed - you might have more luck still needing 20 or so though. And then I would gamble on some large, cheap single player lots. Again, found some Tek but never a needed pattern. Really does take some tenacity to finish these sets. Like I see a 1,200 card Alomar lot for $60OBO. I say gamble, it's all part of the fun. Trust me when you complete the set it's satisfying, but you kind of missing the chase.

Thanks. Yeah maybe it'll come down to that. Those large lots are a crapshoot but you never know.

I did just finish the 99 Tek base run and it was pretty satisfying. I'm sure 98 Tek will feel twice as good to finish.

Oh jeez. Diffractors. I have the astounding total of ONE of those! Bought it just to have an example. At this point in my collection it's hard to justify spending tens of $ on diffractors when I could fill bigger holes for the same money. Eventually the diffractors will percolate up to a higher place on my want list, but I'm sure I'll croak long before i get all of them :) Lotsa luck on your quest...
