With the Jeter buybacks, I've seen more silvers than any other color variation even though silver is supposed to be "scarce". Anyone else notice that with their player?

I'm participating my first ever jumbo case break for this product for a Paul O'neill. The break is Thursday. O'neill does not have any base so I'm hoping to get something good. He had some players left for a buy in so I grabbed the Dawson spot and the Winfield spot so @DaClyde and @Hawk8 standby, maybe I can scoop up something good.

I really appreciate that!!

These are a HUGE plus this year. Out of a hobby case, I hit a Schoop Finest auto, a few silvers of stars like Mattingly, Clemente, etc and a Gold #1 /1 Carlton Fisk. Good return on the secondary market and all were in great condition.

You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar.

So far 13 different mcgwire silver/blue/red/black/gold runs and counting making 65 unique. So far I've got 17 plus one extra because the stamp was in the middle of the card instead of the bottom left which I had to have for...reasons.

And the reasons are understood ;)

One thing I have noticed so far is a lack of commons from the last 25 years or so. Everything I have seen from 1990 on are stars, a surprising fact given the ease that Topps could load up on 90's commons and stamp the crap out of them. The only downside of this is that most of my players aren't at star level, so Buybacks just don't exist for them.

Well the break was yesterday morning. I'm not on Facebook and I couldn't find the recap on YouTube. I only know that something was shipped. I guess when the Packard arrives it will be my own little break. I was in on O'neill, Winfield and Dawson. I know the 3 have no base but I also know the O'neill insert is pretty common. Hoping for the G/U or auto. Will update.

3 1987 Topps Clark Silvers have shown up. Only year and version to show, one has a large stain on the back.

Yep I have noticed this as well. I have not seen any Sandy Alomar Jr. cards pop up.

Dang... I've seen over 100 Gwynn buybacks now. I started tracking them (1st 80 total: 54 silver, 21 blue, 2 black, 0 Red, 3 gold) but quickly gave up. Gwynn may be the easiest of all of them to get.

Dawson also has a fairly common insert
