Here's my tribute to Stan the Man. I've got a sweet patch auto on the way that I will post when it shows up. Have another dozen autos at BGS right now too. I have a feeling finding the last few Heritage cards I need of him is going to be a hard battle...

It still hasn't really sunk in that he'll never take a lap around Busch again. I read today that his last trip there was for Game 4 of the NLCS, which I was at. I get goose bumps just thinking about the way the crowd went wild when he came out. Baseball lost a true great :(

I attended the Musial layout last night. The Cathedral Bascillica is the most marvelous building I have ever entered. As we walked through the large wooden doors we were greeted by people directing us towards the casket. As we passed through rows of ropes off pews we made our way to the front to see Stan one last time. As we walked past one of the final rows I looked over and David Freese and Jon Jay were talking with Brian Scwharze (musial grandson?). I gave a subtle head nod to Freese who did the same. It was not the time or place to try talking to him. As I approached the casket 2 Navy men were standing one on each end of Stans casket, I'm guessing because of the Medal Of Freedom he recieved. Musial looked almost as a wax figure but looked great with the make up he was in. Musial was buried in his Cardinals red jacket wearing a St.Louis Cardinals tie and his Harmonica was in his pocket. Our final moment with Stan will always be remembered by me. As I walked out of the Cathedral we passed Hall Of Fame Writer Rick Hummell and headed home. It was truly a memorable moment.

Yes at the lay out. It was very very neat. His actual funeral is supposed to be broadcast tomorrow on tv. MLB network and local news stations.

I went to the funeral today and was able to get inside the Cathedral Basillica. I sat in the same row 2 pews over from Albert Pujols. It was incredible. Such a great ceremony. Bob Costas' eulogy echoed throughout the entire Cathedral a small man delivered the most powerful speech during the whole mass. Such an awesome event. To be able to attend is something I will never forget. Here is the front of the program from today.

Nice reports from the Musial funeral. Thanks for sharing, guys.

Picked these up today from a cheap vintage table at Twinsfest today. I always look for Boyer stuff, since he doesn't carry a big premium up here, but couldn't find anything I needed (but did pass on a pretty nice rookie for $25) So I settled on these Reds for $20.

Pretty happy with the 52 Bowman. Nice color, no creases on any of the cards, but the 54 Bowman has a pretty soft corner. $20 well spent!

Nice! I was looking at 1952 Topps Red at a card show in Syracuse yesterday. I also had my eye on a Canadian Post Ken Boyer, but it was cut really bad
