Just out of curiosity do you have any extra pattern # 1s or pattern # 48 of Burnitz?
Here's a 98 next to a 14. Yes, similar in effect, but to me much more effective in 98. Even in the Wave Pattern there is too much clear space that disrupts the awesome "broken glass" effect.

I agree, from the picture I think the 1998 Tek looks better. I guess cards are about as high tek as they are going to get. Here's a 98 next to a 14. Yeah I am with you on that. I guess one good thing is that they didn't make '98 diffractor buybacks
They probably couldn't find or afford enough 98 diffractors to use as buybacks.
At the bottom of the ocean.Topps probably has all the Pattern # 49s Diffractors stashed away... lol

Boxes have crossed the $400 mark. What could you possibly pull to justify that price? Someone must be desperate and willing to gamble to pull some card they need. Or people are thinking of them as an investment. I wonder if the 1998 Topps Tek Bubble will make the news one day.
Hot box with all McGwire Diffractors and every McGwire base pattern. All mint.
