soooooooooo you can get a nice Sandburg auto for around 50 bucks or spend 2,000 for one that is numbered to 25? really? I cant see these cards doing well...

why would anyone spend 1,000 bucks for a Jeter auto numbered to 50? because it came from a expencive box?

I watched the break, all the cards look wicked cool, if I collected guys in the product I would certainly want something from the set. Having said that Topps just hosed 65 buyers.

Some of the cut autos would have looked fine in regular size cards but Topps didn't adjust the windows for most and they come off as elegant drunks...

I just watched a box break and while the autos are really impressive (they better be!), honestly it's a really boring thing to break/ watch.

Correct me if I'm wrong but every box has the same players?

Without patches, super patches, different designs, it's just plain boring.

I took a look at prices too, I wonder how long til they drop. Everything looks nuts right now

Just people that have hit something in a group break, taken a screenshot and think they're going to get a huge payday within 20 minutes. Once a few auctions close next week it'll become clear what the going rate is. It'll be like Dynasty where they go for more than a normal release because of the buy-in, but they simply aren't worth 4x what a similar #/52 auto would be.

I watched one break and fast forwarded through the non auto stuff and was still bored. Nothing new in watching someone pull a Hank Aaron auto (sadly because he's an all-time great) or Frank Thomas auto. It's been mentioned in this thread before, but if you want auto's of these guys, and sp auto's to boot, just buy one on ebay for a fraction of the cost.

One thing I was talking to a shop owner about was how this kind of stuff isn't stopped in it's tracks by wax breakers taking major losses and knowing better than to bust it. It's hard enough knowing you'll probably take a loss on a $300 a box product. His idea was there will always be people out there who will bust this stuff. I just can't see this cycle continuing though. Really, it's like buying lotto tickets you know are losers. Who, even of the sickest gamblers out there, does that continually? There has to be at least the chance of a winner.

Has there been ANY card pulled that comes within 50% of covering a box?

how many of the 65 boxes did group breakers buy? There sure is a bunch of rip videos from group breakers of this product, especially considering I thought people with too much money were the ones buying this product.
