There are so many it's hard to pick just one! I would like to find the other half of this one though.

I have the 1/2 but have not seen the 2/2 anywhere.

1998 Playoff Contenders Peyton Manning RC Auto/200. Price prevents this. I don't think I can justify spending $3000+ on a card. Should've got one back in the day when they were more affordable.

great idea for a thread George!

in order to limit myself to 3 (because honestly it will make this easier and quicker for me to decide on), I'm going with cards whose images I can pull from the internet. NOTE - list is highly highly highly aspirational...

1) Clayton Kershaw 2006 BDPP Autograph Superfractor...sigh. in my price range once, then sold, so now very unlikely...

2) Mike Piazza 1996 Select Certified Mirror Gold (hmmm, can't find a pic!) also would like the PP version, there is one on ebay that is a PSA 10 but seller wants what I think is a ridiculously high price

3) Early Donruss Recollection autos of Pedro Martinez (either the /2 1992 or /1 1993). According to Worthpoint the 1/1 1992 sold on ebay in March 2007. Needless to say I would love to track it down!

For Olerud my collection is definitely missing high-end memorabilia cards. I'd love to add something like a button, bat barrel nameplate, or MLB logo patch to my PC.

For Arencibia I'd love to have a Superfractor.

If any of these types of cards ever came up for sale I wouldn't be in any position to buy though.

ok i thought of two more...

I have always needed this. It hardly ever comes up, and when it does I never have the funds to handle that big a purchase

and my third is a recent one. I have all four other versions of this, and the Patch version would complete my Rainbow.

I know this is supposed to be a single card thread, but to be honest I will never feel like my Randy Johnson collection is adequate until I have the 20 or so cards left to finish my 1998 Topps F'n Tek binder. I cannot think of a single 1/1 or auto card that would give me the fulfillment of flipping through 10 solid pages of Tek variations and seeing no holes.

I would have to say my choice, which is more of a "I've always wanted one, but wouldn't/couldn't spend the money on it" would be the iconic 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth, but it ABSOLUTELY has to be #181 . The remaining 3 Goudey Ruth cards are nothing more than high end cards to me otherwise. I have loved that card ever since I was a kid and saw a reprint of it. The combination of one of the greatest trading card subjects and that green color just make this a must have card for me, if I ever find myself with a couple extra $1000 to spend.T

My missing card is the 2001 Topps archives George Brett rookie reprint auto/50. 2 sales ago the card (and the set) went nuts. Last sale was much less but still way to high. Many have been placed in collections I am guessing.

Anything in my sig. would be great but the card I want most of all is the 1996 Mirror gold Puckett. I have never seen them come up for sale but I know the price will be high if any do. I have seen a pic of one that [MENTION=2418]George_Calfas[/MENTION] has though.

1992 MJb Holographics R/2 Prototype

owned it many years ago, have never, ever seen another. And this is the prototype for card 2, not card 1.

Let me see if I've got an extra. I know I have one floating around somewhere for sure.

As far as what I feel I'm missing, it's got to be an MLB logo man or a bat barrel. I've got a button, true 1/1, 1/1 auto, patches, plates, etc. But these are two I don't own and eventually will. The main reason is due to poor timing when they show up.
