how did he even become eligible for the draft? I thought a player had to actually play baseball and be registered on a list of eligible people that teams can use to draft from.

my prediction for his future - he tebow's his football career and is broke within 5 years of being released from the NFL.

Michael Vick (2000, Rockies)
Colin Kaepernick (2009, Cubs)

Brandon Weeden was drafted in 2002 ... notable? nah... just recently played in the NFL.

As a Padres fan I see it as a PR stunt but I'm cool with the possible bowman SP card. It would make the Padres more interesting in breaks.

Although not notable, and he didn't play QB in NFL, Antwaan Randle El was drafted by the Cubs.

Yeah, I'm sure that 28th rounder would have turned out to be a HOFer.....
To be fair, Piazza was drafted in the 62nd round of the 1988 draft and has a decent shot to eventually be a HOFer, so you never know what this pick could have produced. However you are right 999 out of a 1000 times, but as Lloyd Christmas said in dumb and dumber, "so youre saying theres a chance"

I did not know Tom Brady or Michael Vick were drafted as baseball players. I'm surprised we haven't seen retro cards of them. Or maybe we have and I'm ignorant.
