I actually have a search geared for Luckman, Grange, Baugh, Bulldog and the rest of those old timers. Not huge into football GU, but those things just look great.

You could go with a dual - [phil:2ve01jkk]380333337993[/phil:2ve01jkk], pretty nice card.

Such an amazing thread    I don't have many to add to this...but I will attempt it ::facepalm::

I'll start with one of the Babe's jersey cards...with the "fat" pinstripe. I know the current Topps ones have skinnier pinstripes and the jersey itself actually seems a bit darker as well:

I have ALWAYS been a big fan of this card just from the old school looks alone...pinstripes always attract:

Another HOF favorite of mine...I consider this more rare due to the pairings of players as well as how rare it is for the 2009 Ultimate jersey set to have ALL old timer/HOFers without any modern day stars on it. It looks as the Joe D has some nice stitching where a patch may have been and I wish the Teddy and the Rizzuto jerseys were older wool of sorts:

Can never let down anything from the 2005 Absolute set:

I know this is modern day...but I tend to think it as rare as this was his ONLY logoman for the longest time. There is only one other from Topps Unique that my buddy Phil has and it is auto'd. I believe the 2 others coming from Triple Threads were All Star jerseys so I try not to count those:

Last but not least here are a few I used to have that no longer are in my collection :(

A non-baseball piece ends tonight - [phil:2cd6dp9t]370501664835[/phil:2cd6dp9t] - Thorpe. This brings the question to mind, what GU from basketball, football, hockey would fall into a similar sort of category for you?

Early Bobby Orr Game used sells well in Hockey.

Also, it made huge headlines here in Canada about 10 years ago or so, as ITG cut up the only known pair of Georges Vezina goalie pads to make game used cards.

These Georges Vezina game used sell very well.

Cool stuff guys, love it when the Baseball guys allow a few football pieces to be shown. Here's a few older swatches I've collected, I love old school stuff.

From 07 National Treasures, these are from the Jersey #'s gold set, #'d to the jersey #

Ken Strong - played for the Giants between 1933 - 1947, his Jersey # was retired

Mel Hein - played for the Giants between 1931 - 1945, also had Jersey # retired

Sammy Baugh - Redskins 1932 - 1952, also retired Jersey #

when this card came out in 98, it was a 800$. Way before the ebay craze began. As a 15 year old collector, this card at the time. was THEEE mcgwire card to have. His first GU card ever made. I didn't obtain one until 3 years after it came out. Not the rarest card but one of my all time favorites. It holds a special place as at the time it was the most expensive card i ever bought with my own money. 425$ it cost me, i got it a few weeks after i graduated highschool.   i bought with my summer job money and  finally had it signed last year at a private signing.

This is a rare mcgwire card. It is the only mcgwire GU card ever made that has a piece of an ACTUAL HR ball, not some generic ball used in the game, but it is a peice of the actual Ball McGwire hit for his 9th HR in the 98 season. They don't pop up often, and in the era now of overproduced water'ed down prices, it still fetches 150+. I had it signed IP at spring traning 2010
