OK, here's the deal. Contest prize is still being worked out, because I am at work right now and can't see the stack of cards sitting on my desk. I want you to predict the first round of the NHL Draft. You don't have to predict any trades or anything, just which players 1-30. If two entries are identical (because you copied Bob McKenzie), then the first one wins.
Scoring: In this contest - the lowest score wins. Basically, your score for each position depends on where the player you pick actually goes.
Score = |player's actual draft position - player's predicted position| There is no benefit to being high or low, you want to be as close as possible.
Example: 1. Taylor Hall, 2. Tyler Seguin. If they are drafted in this order, I have 0 points. If they are drafted in the reverse order, I have 2 points (|2-1| = 1 for Hall and |1-2| = 1 for Seguin).
If that isn't very clear - just make your list and leave the scoring to me. I have an Excel spreadsheet, because I am a huge geek.
To summarize: predict the NHL's first round (1-30). Possibly win a prize for having the lowest score at the end of the day. Prize to be announced. Contest closes when Gary Bettman walks up to the stage and gets booed for the first time, or if by some chance LA doesn't boo him, it ends when the Oilers personnel start their awkward thank yous to the fans in LA.
