Why the fffrig is this website always screwed up when I'm trying to give them my money???? My last two subs couldn't be done electronically because the entire website was down (it's down right now). Last week I have $100 worth of Beckett marketplace cards (over 100 cards I tracked down and individually selected, took me about an hour) only to have the screen of death (page not found) when I go to pay... I haven't bothered trying again. I know it's been said before, but man. Hey parent company invest some money and stop running a ridiculous tight ship! This kind of thing just isn't acceptable in a business world. They have a great product/service, great people, but it seems like the top end support is a total joke.

beckett.com is the single most comical website in our hobby.

They were completely blind, deaf and dumb donkeys throughout the "beta" process and yet their completely effed website is still the same weak site with the functionality of a dead goat.

The fact that Beckett has done absolutely nothing to resolve their weak website in two years goes great lengths in explaining their overall lack of relevance in this hobby.

Once the hobby flagship brand is now a complete joke.

You know, there are a couple people there that are viable in this hobby, but I'm embarrassed for them. The overall lack of souls in the company as a whole is shocking.

No self-respecting hobby enthusiast would work for Beckett in their current state. Their entire business model is based on an archaic mentality that is long out of date.

What shocks me most is that the "good eggs" there don't simply split and start something on their own, but the fact remains...without BGS, Beckett would have gone the way of Fleer.

Wow are you serious lol?
I guess people love it over there.

Nothing like paying them to trade your own cards with others. ::facepalm::

Funny story about the Beckett web site. Right after they switched over their site, they were searching for some feedback on their new site. I had some colleagues who are *recognized* industry experts (people who have designed user interfaces and sites for Apple, Visa, and NewEgg) and we put together a short 3-4 page overview on places that could use some help in the User Interface department and ways they could possibly change. Free advice from seasoned veterans, with offers to help them.

Never heard back from them. Not even a thanks for taking the time to try and make our site better or even a thanks for providing feedback like we have asked.

A few months later, my Beckett subscription lapsed, I received daily emails reminding me to renew my subscription. I replied to one of the emails stating I was disappointed in the direction that Beckett has moved and their lack of customer appreciation, so I would like to cancel my subscription.

What do I get?

An automated email that says something to the effect of "Thanks for reporting your issue, a customer service representative will be contacting you shortly."

Never heard back.

Never been back.

I just don't understand how it can continue to be this bad. I first signed up on that site in 2005 I think but didn't actually do anything with it until last January. Over the course of the entire year there have been problems and I believe around the November timeframe, was going down every weekend. It was unreal. It was as if Friday evening hit around 5 PM and the site would go down.

I had visions of the show Lost. Someone sitting at Beckett entering a code every 108 minutes to ensure it kept working and when closing time came on Friday, that was it.

I still post on the boards but trading and OPG? Yeah right.
