Since the season is upon us, use this thread to talk about pre season hopes, top prospects on your teams, big games, etc. Follow this thread all the way through to Omaha.

The 2 time defending National Champion Gamecocks are poised to make another deep run in the playoffs with the strength of the team being 4 returning SP's. Having the #1 recruiting class may help fill some voids left from last year's team. Tanner English, a very talented Freshman, is one to watch.

Good luck this year to everyone's teams.

Hopefully LSU has a good season and gives them a run for their money ;)

Looks like a little bit of a rebuilding year for UVA here in Charlottesville. They are still ranked nationally, but not nearly as high as in the recent past as they lost a lot a talent to the draft. Hopefully the first year guys will step up and Branden Kline will live up to his first team all American billing.

Vanderbilt playing Stanford this weekend in a nice three game series. Tyler 'keep your Canadian millions' Beede taking the hill in the second game. Might be a bit of a rebuilding year after we lost 12 draft picks, but should still be a nice race in the SEC East. I shudder to think how good the Gators are this year.

Not sure what the outlook is for Rutgers baseball this year - but I'll hope for over .500 and a good showing in the Big East tourny and see what happens. Hope Steve Nyisztor can come back from his injury plagued 2011 season. Anyway, good luck to all, it's nice to have baseball coming back

*Edit* lol - just did some checking and Nyisztor flunked out of RU and transferred to a JC. too bad, but I still wish him well going forward

I just got to Wilmington, NC with the Ohio baseball team for our first series. Pumped to get this season started tomorrow.

Looking forward to the Dave Serrano era at Tennessee as well.

I didn't hear about the projects for the Gophers, but my Huskies are one of the top teams in DII if I am correct.

Who are the bigger prospects in the Big 10 this year? Any USA guys?

Yep. Could either be a rough year or a very surprising year for the Hoos. Lots of similarities to 09 though which was a pretty good year.

I do not get Adam Walker as a first team All American. He looks like a physical beast, but then you see him move in the field or when he takes a breaking ball and you realize his issues.

BA has the Gophers finishing 3rd in conference behind Purdue and Michigan State. They're actually playing their 1st game of the season right now against Louisville, up 3-1. This could be a nice win if they finish it off.

I think they have a pretty solid team this year. Last year it was a mess. I went to one game and it was a pathetic loss to a very small school.

Their pitching is really going to have to carry them but it's always tough for schools in the Midwest to really succeed on a national level. They're up 7-1 right now in the 8th.

Wow. They are really going.

The team from 2 years ago was just nuts... Knudson, Rosin, Kvasnicka, Pettersen, Matyas, Gominsky...

That was some good baseball.
