Just published the February edition of the Bowman Chrome Top 100 Rookie & Prospect Sales. Lots of movement from January and a number of cards breaking into the rankings for the first time. Mike Olt was the biggest mover going from 84th in January to 42nd in February. Check out the list via the link below. Hope its a good resource for everyone. Will be fun to see what happens in March once ST games get fired up.

I have a problem with this whole thing. For instance, Nolan Arenado 2010 Bowman Chrome, there is one completed listing that you are representing as its current value. This one sale does not accurately reflect what they are currently worth or selling for. 1 sale is too small a sample size. How about averaging ALL the sales for the last 2 weeks, would be a better more accurate number.

I guess I hadn't realized Shelby Miller was popping off so high. Give me one or 2 good ST starts and I'm selling out. I don't think I paid more than $25 for anything of his I own (including a REF).

This is one of the gretest features provided BTW; BIG thanks.

They are not that high as posted in his listing. The refractors are in the $50ish range but his base autos are selling in the 30 dollar range.

Not sure where I am representing anything as it's current value. I am taking the highest reported sale with multiple bids (no single bid or buy it nows) that a card sold for during each month and listing it. It's pretty clearly written in the intro of the post as to what I am doing. Nowhere do I say these are the current values. I state it is the highest recorded sale for each card. It takes 4 hours just to do that. If you'd like to compile a list that has the averages every two weeks for completed sales, I'd be happy to publish/link to it.

Wow...that is a very cool ranking. Two biggest observations for me is how low Travis D'Arnaud and Arodys Vizcaino are compared to their Law/BA rankings. Those guys are seriously undervalued. Yonder Alonso feels low too, especially with his opportunity in San Diego.

Agreed, this list is a spectacular resource. Interesting how the highest sales on a lot of big names actually slipped. I wonder if now after the top 100 list and ST coming we'll see more increases. I don't know how long it takes to make, but I imagine quite some time, and it is much appreciated. (Still shocking how low Montgomery is.)

Curious why you cut things off in 2007? Is it because before that most everyone is not really a prospect? (I find it interesting to see where players like Lester, Verlander etc. stack up, but obviously it is a different market on those.)

Yes cut it off at 2007 draft because after that its pretty much established big leaguers. (Dellin Betances a notable exception 07 BC). Wanted to keep the prospect feel as the established guys are basically a different broader market.

To the guy that asked, the Feb cutoff was around 10:00pm est last night. (Forgot its a leap year).

The list takes about 4 hours to compile each month. Glad folks are enjoying it. I appreciate the positive feedback. It will be very fun to see what happens once spring games/season starts. March and April could have some huge swings. Also looking forward to seeing new players with the subsequent Bowman Chrome Auto releases during 2012.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the list. Thank you !

I too would be curious about including back to 2002 (2001, we all know what that looks like :))

But yeah, having a list for chrome vets would be cool too. Perhaps even be able to limit that to say 30 guys due to the filtering out of the hits and misses over the years.

2002
Mauer, Wright,
2003
Youk, Hanley, McCann, Delmon, Weeks, Markakis,
2004
Felix, Gio,
2005
Kemp, Verlander, Billy Butler, Braun, Weaver, Zimmerman, Steven Drew, Ellsbury, Garza,
2006
Fielder, ALex Gordon, Joey Bats, Lester, Kershaw, Longo, J-Upton,
2007
Lincecum, Pence

Guys who could be tracked, and possibly make the BIG made-it list:

2002
Gavin Floyd,
2003
Niemann, Billingsley,
2004
Homer Bailey, Phil Hughes, Neil Walker,
2005
Mike Morse, Colby Rasmus, Michael Bourn
2006
Kendry Morales,
2007
Joba, Coghlan, Cahill

Pretty decent list eh?
