This was mine...took a chance as a kid and bought this raw for $100...had wax on the front that I was able to carefully remove before submitting.

1982 Topps Traded Cal Ripken, Jr. It got a BGS 6. I learned the hard way. But at least I wasn't planning to sell it... only had it graded for preservation purposes.

Back in 2000. I had several cards, but most notably a BGS 5 1989 UD Griffey and a BGS 8.5 1999 BC Refractor Corey Patterson. I traded the Patterson for over $100 cv.

1999 Topps Chrome Traded Corey Patterson, got a BGS 9.5 and sold it ASAP on ebay.

My first sub was 5 cards; it was in the year 2000; my 18th birthday present. Two of them were Derek Jeter 1993 Topps and Score RCs, which both came back 8.5s. Sold those this past summer.
The other three cards are these:
The centering on the back of the Encarnacion is about 85/15, which knocked it to a 7 overall on centering. I did not notice this before I sent it in. Again, I was 18, and the interweb knowledge base is not what it is now :lol:

My grandma loved my enthusiasm for sports collecting and bought me a subscription to Beckett Sports Card Monthly.
I submitted a 2009 Topps David Price RC (9) and a 2009 Topps Babe Ruth (9.5)
That was back when I thought BV mattered so I submitted the 2 biggest cards I had recently pulled.

1999 topps gold label Alfonso soriano. Gem mint 10. It was back when he was da bomb.
This is mine. Pulled it myself at the height of his popularity in his rookie season and then graded it myself. Before this i would submit through my LCS.
Still own it today and have no plans of getting rid of it. 2004 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection is one of my favorite modern day sets ever.
