Sergei Gonchar will make his first appearance of the 2008-09 season tonight as the Pens take on the Maple Leafs in Toronto. Gonch had surgery on October 2, 2008 to repair a shoulder injury that occurred in the Cup Finals last season and then again this pre-season. he will improve the struggling power play and bring his leadership skills back to the locker room and the ice. there is a ton of pressure on Gonchar from the Pittsburgh media to turn this season around but I am not expecting much at first but hope after a week or two he is back to his old self.
Ruslan Fedotenko also returns to the Pens tonight after being out since he broke his hand on Colby Armstrong's face during a January 6th fight. it will be nice to have Tenko back as well.
