I'd definitely prefer on-card, but I don't think stickers "ruin" a card if they're done right. The problem is that they're rarely done right. Topps needs to do away with those aluminum foil stickers and stick with (no pun intended) the semi-clear ones.

Depends on how the sticker is integrated into the design of the card. There have been almost no patch cards with on-card autographs.

Another thing the manufacturers have to consider is the cost allowing patch cards sent to players for their signatures. They lose $ if they don't return them in time or don't sign them at all.

The clear stickers on patch cards look amazing. Personally, there are very few (non-manufactured) patch auto cards that I don't like
