ATLANTA -- Braves prospect Evan Gattis will have to wait at least three more weeks before getting a chance to resume playing for Double-A Mississippi. Gattis has been sidelined since May 17 because of strained tendons in his wrist. He suffered the injury while lifting a bag in an attempt to put it on an overhead compartment on the team bus.
"He felt something pull and then he played with it and it got sore and then he tried to compensate for it and it got worse," Braves assistant general manager Bruce Manno said. "We had to shut him down because it got so bad." Gattis' left wrist has been immobilized by a cast most of the past month. He is expected to begin re-strengthening the wrist with various exercises this week. The Braves are hoping he might be ready to play again during the early days of July.

He's mashing this spring. Close to .400 AVG with 4 HR....might be the perfect player to carry with McCann's troubles?

He's doing great so far as one of the catchers for the Braves. Hitting .500 in 8 ABs with his first major league home run while Fox was interviewing his dad in the stands. It's a great story, I wish him the best.

How does Topps continue to ram the same "prospects" down our throat for 2-3 consecutive years sometimes, yet produce no cards (other than a Heritage minor leagues base card) of Gattis?

Boom: There it is :p

And did you guys see the other day there was something about him on yahoo. It was where his dad was at game and was being interviewed live about his kid. His son was up to bat and was saying he thought his kid had a good swing and really can hit the ball, when just then he hit a towering HR and his dad said see there you go. Was actually pretty cool

It used to have a video with it Dave since I seen it on the yahoo sports minute with Angela Sun the other day. But seems to not have the video linked to it any more. He took Roy Halladay deep for his first big league hit too.

Found this Dave not all if the interview but a cool look anyway

From the auction description:

Though the front states
"Topps Certified Autograph Issue", these cards were NOT autographed or imprinted with a serial number as typically
found on the regular issue purple refractors. Please note that this card is slightly oversized, as it was a printer's proof.

ULTRA RARE! How many of these made it in to circulation??!
