Since SPs do not affect the numbered amount of parallels, I really don't think they matter.

I've certainly never seen a significant sales price difference as a result of these sorts of announcements.

I have for Contenders but that is a widely collected set having been around well over a decade.

I remember when Leaf Draft baseball came out and it was announced that Josh Bell was a SSP and people were talking it up like it was the next Contenders and paying like $60 per on his redemptions. Now they sell for $20-25.
