I am interested in seeing how they protray the lying and screwing over of the Pirates in the whole "signing" process.

It's amazing how teams spend up to $2.9 million per year on these guys and how much of a risk it is to dump money into raw talent that is probably lying to you about ages anyway.

It like they are snake oil salesmen to an extent.

agreed, they are all liars, players and families and agents all trying to scam one another. MLB needs to install a world draft and cut out this crap.

How would that stop anything? They'll still lie about their age and name so they appear younger in the draft.
Well, it might not affect the age thing so much, but it would reduce that scamming. But the downside to that, at least for the DR players like the article said, the talent pool would be greatly reduced like it did in Puerto Rico. But it would keep the system a little more honest.
