If i could have the option to close it, it would be better. My internet signal gets weaker at night (but AT&T CLAIMS they don't have high traffic times), and having to be forced to download a player in the window really slows everything waaaaay down. Like, to the tune of almost 1 minute a page.

I too hate it, especially when I'm on my phone it makes it difficult for the forum to load sometimes and does it at the top of every page. So when I'm at work I don't even go to FCB until Monday

The main reason Gilmore put the viewer on the top is because the ustream chat rarely if ever works and this way you can have the video and chat open on the same page.

The "WHY" is beside the point. What it DOES is make page viewing an absolute pain. Please go ahead and put it somewhere else or make it possible for us to work around it.

Funny how Chris tries to bring direct banter from the largest sportscard show of the year and he gets hated on for it. Would you prefer that FCB shared the Natty with you like Blowout or SCF................

Concur, I don't know the exact reasoning behind it but ever since that viewer has been on the page, at times, loading FCB crawls to an almost complete halt for me.
I too would like an option to close it.

1. Download Firefox.
2. Open forum.
3. Put mouse cursor over player.
4. "Block" tab appears in top right corner of player.
5. Click "Block". Problem solved - though it will make viewing ANY UStream an issue - you can remove it from the filter later.

I wonder how some people manage in life when such little things like this (which I take as a nice gesture by Chris for people to channel into the National) bother them so much.
