Headley with his 3rd HR in his last 2 games, and his 6th in his last 10. Nice 40 point OPS jump this month never hurts :)

Cain 7.1IP 2ER 6K and now 11-5

Buster 2-4 HR (19) 2 RBI

Buster is now hitting .330 with 19 Hr and 76 RBIs. If he keeps it up and the Giants make the playoffs...MVP as a catcher?

This is why baseball is so frustrating or so great. The team with the fewest homeruns in the MLB this year (The Royals) have hit another 3 tonight. ~15 HR's in the last 2 weeks counting the three tonight. So they have hit 4 less than they did the entire month of July and now 8 fewer in their highest month (June) all of this by the last day of the second week of the month.

As for Posey...how can he be top 5 in HR? 19 isn't enough to be in the top 5, even in the NL. Question....who is leading the NL in Runs, Hits, Top 2 in average, and then in the top 10 in every "dot" category. That's seriously not a contender as well, Votto coming back and fighting off the 'rats down the stretch, McCutchen leading those 'Rats down the stretch to their first great season since the days of Andy Van Slyke, or given that the NL has been the story of pitching this season I could see a few contenders after a couple great starts and it doesn't have to be a contender either as someone as recent as Albert Pujols has shown...just need a story.

my bad, meant to write top 5 in RBI and .avg and has 19 HR. The fact he is a catcher is really his strongest attribute. He's putting up numbers a starting corner infielder should be having.
