What's with Dan Haren this season?

I haven't been tracking him as aggressively as in other seasons. He has the same number of walks now than in 238.1 IP last season. Over a run and half higher ERA, and his whip is much higher too. His last 10 starts look very un-Haren like. 6 out of 10 of those game he gave up 5 ER or more. The man will be 32 next month. Is his career declining?

He was battling back problems and went on the DL for the first time in his career this season because of it. I'm certain it is the reason for his bad season. I hope he can fully recover as he is one of my favorite pitchers.

He's definately pitching through pain. Tough to say which is better, giving your team a mediocre version of yourself or just going on the DL and letting a young guy come up and try to help out.
