I'm confused. Why would I want someone else to break a box I bought? Is it just to provide entertainment value to others through a live box break?
I understand in a group break, but this seems odd to me that someone would ask you to open their own box.

its very common. many people need instant gratification. BO does this and its pretty huge.

We did this over the winter (Jan-Feb) and it went pretty well. Shipping was not slow either.
