Ichiro is 7 for 8 today. 5 of his hits have came against LHP.

He was 3 for 4 and scored 2 Runs in the first game of the double header. Not to mention his game saving catch

In the second game he is 4 for 4 and with FOUR stolen bases! And he drove in the winning run!

Maybe Ichiro will finally play over Andruw Jones (who has 7 Hits in the last 39 days!)

ICHIRO with the 2 RBI Double to put the Yankees on top 3-2. He has driven in all three runs.

Hitting over .320 as a Yankee.

2 for 2 tonight with a home run and a double. 9 for his last 10. 13 hits away from 2600, he should hit #3,000 at age 40 if he hits at his current pace.

Just ran the simulator on ESPN and says he has 54% chance to do it. 2 more season @ 214 hits each would get 3016. Since he played in Japan, would they add the 2 together for total hits? Not even sure what that would be, I'll look it up.

**Japan total is 1278. So if he hits 3000, that would put him at 4278. Will they consider him the hit king over Rose?

I would think not.

2 for 2 with a stolen base tonight! However, he got thrown out trying to stretch his second hit into a double.

In the second inning he is 2 for 2 with a Home Run and a Single.

Crazy.

Your not kidding. He's hitting .335 as a Yankee.
Edit - To put in perspective he has only hit higher than .335 four times in his career.

Ichiro hit #s 2600 and 2601st of his career. Only 399 left till 3000.
Still hitting .327 as a Yankee in 63 games (99% sure, i don't think the mlb stats update until tomorrow.) which is amazing for his age of 38.

Edit - 2602. and .330 as a Yankee

Must be nice for him to have capable hitting talent surrounding him. I wonder if the Yankees will try to sign him? It would be good for Ichiro on his quest to 3,000+ hits and great publicity for the Yanks... plus he's still pretty good.
