My wife and I are going to Saturday's game. We'll hit Ann Sather's for a giant cinnamon roll before the game, but may be interested in getting something afterwards. Can anybody suggest a place or two for after the game? We're not big drinkers, so a bar is not what we're looking for. Bar and grill, casual food restaurant-type place would be fine. Must be Cardinals-friendly since I will be wearing my Cardinals gear.

Since you will be wearing Cardinals gear, I suggest stopping by a McDonalds on your way out of town. Just kidding, Cubs fans are actually nice to Cardinal fans, especially since we can't say you guys suck and your World Series record. Cardinal fans actually feel sorry for me now.

One of my favorites is Leona's....a long foul ball away on Sheffield Ave which is the street that runs beyond right field.

I also like Chicago Grinder Company on Clark street which is one of the streets that run in front of Wrigley. It also has the distinction of being just across the street from where the famous St. Valentines Day massacre happened...if you like that thing.

My wife and I went to Chicago a couple of years ago and we loved this place:
Frontera Grill 445 North Clark Street, Chicago, IL 60654, great Mexican food, http://www.rickbayless.com/restaurants/grill.html went in our Giants gear and everything, but it's not near the ballpark. Actually we didn't eat anywhere near the ballpark on our trip.

Hot Chocolate 1747 N. Damen Ave. Chicago, Illinois 60647 , http://www.hotchocolatechicago.com/ great place for dessert.

Big Star 1531 N Damen Chicago, IL 60622, http://bigstarchicago.com nice taco shop down the road from Hot Chocolate.

Maxwell Steet Market on Sunday mornings, nice little swap meet with many Mexican food stalls.

Good call on Ann Sather's for pre-game. A couple of my favorite spot's to eat are right near there: Leona's (mchenrycards posted) and a couple options a few blocks south of there on Sheffield, Panes (great sandwiches) and Pompei (pizza, pasta).

If you're planning to hang out right in Wrigleyville post game, you'll probably find that most places will be standing room only. Places like Goose Island or John Barleycorn are large enough that you might have a chance at a table. Best bet for bar/grill is to head west about half mile from Wrigley to Southport. There are many bars and restaurants in this area and it should be a little less crowded. A couple of my favorites were Cullen's, Guthrie Tavern, and Schoolyard Tavern. And if you need to feel like your back home in northern WI, you can always go to Will's Northwoods Inn.

The above post must be qualified by the fact that I moved to the Twin Cities about 7 years ago.

Have a good trip.

Wills Northwoods inn! I believe that is the only Packer bar in Chicago if memory serves me correctly.

I agree on heading to Southport. Less crowded and a great neighborhood feel to it.
