They are not serial #'d on the back. Were they pretty common or did they have a limited print run (like the F/X blues having only 25 copies)

They're not scarce at all, as far as I know. About 2/3rds of the set is available on COMC, most for 70%-90% off BV.
For some reason #'d/172 comes to mind....
Wasn't that 2003 BC Gold Refractors that were numbers to /172?
According to the Beckett Almanac:
"2003 Bowman Chrome X-Fractor cards numbered 1-330 were issued at a stated rate of one in nine hobby packs.
Autographed cards numbered 331-350 (with the exception of 332, Jose Contreras) were issued at a stated rate of one in 199 hobby packs at a stated print run of 250 sets.
The 332 Jose Contreras was issued at a stated print run of 50 sets.
The 351 Willie Mays card was issued at a stated rate of one in 58 box loader packs."
Ok, weren't 2004 xfractors #'d/125? That's the only reason I asked. Topps is so finicky with their #'ing system.
