I've had this happen were the seller still wanted to go through eBay, so they still made an auction so that just the other person would find it. It helps prevent someone else from hitting the BIN.

Still doesn't add up... feel like the seller just sets himself up for all sorts of problems... why not just list regular with a massive high BIN and shortly after the "buyer" just puts in an offer for the agreed price? Just think this is a little overboard.
