I Am selling some cards for my ill LCS owner, and amongst the stuff he gave me was a collection of TTM autos from the 80's. While they all appear legit, the Ripken is the only one that was a red flag. It's definitely different than his current auto, but I was wondering if, since these were supposedly signed in the early 80's, his sig was different then. L k your thought on these:

It's in ballpoint pen so it isn't easy to see. LMK if you'd feel comfortable selling it. Should I authenticate? Thanks

I have a Ripken signed '83 Donruss base card that I got from him through the mail in '84 that he also signed in ball point pen, and it looks just like yours.
I've never been 100% sure it's authentic since it was TTM, but it does look like his early signatures.
I'll post a scan of mine in a few minutes.

Early signature and appears to be dead on like others have alluded.
