I've been slowly trying to put together a set of 1951 Bowman cards of the starting line-ups for the Giants and Dodgers from the famous "Shot Heard 'Round The World" playoff game.
So far I've managed to put these together.
Giants Manager: Leo Durocher
During the final historic at bat,
Whitey Lockman was at second,
Clint Hartung was at third,
The Dodgers had just brought in Ralph Branca from the bullpen,
And at the plate was Bobby Thomson,
And the rest is history(Audio): http://www.baseball-almanac.com/thomson.ram
A fantastic moment in baseball history, here's a link to the box score of this game: http://www.baseball-almanac.com/boxscore/10031951.shtml
And a link to the Dodgers broadcast of the game: http://www.archive.org/details/1951NLChampionshipGame
I know there are a couple of cards from this set that will be almost impossible to obtain, but that's the thrill of it all. Thanks for taking a look and let me know what you think.
