Turkey Red is making a comeback.


Topps‘ online-only offerings at ShopTopps.com will continue in 2013, the company announced Tuesday as Turkey Red will be the latest brand to be sold online direct to the public.


This follows in the footsteps of the Topps Mini and Heritage High Number releases that were only sold online last year and a glossy version of the Allen & Ginter set the previous year.


“[It] is scheduled to go live in mid-February,” said Topps representative Mike Jaspersen, who promised to have more details on the product soon.

This could be a sweet product? Or be a topps bomb. I'm leaning toward sweetness

LOL. No thanks. While I'm making a tidy profit on the Topps Minis...sales are slow. But then again, I'm way to lazy in the way I listed them too.

11 cards per box?

10 base + 1 auto per box? How many cards are in the set?

This is stupid. Just make a product and let me build my set. I also, as mentioned earlier, wonder how many cards are in the set. If this is a big set and your only way of getting the cards is 10 at a time with an auto, it might be a costly set to put together.

Does this count against their allotment of sets? I'm guessing not.

I loved turkey red back in the day.
If it is only 10 cards plus and auto I'm thinking $30-$40 per box.
Could be worth the risk as long as Angel Pagan is not on the auto checklist.

I'm still going with a much lower price than that. I'm guessing $40 told per box with at least 100 cards in the base set, making it 10 boxes to put the set together.

thats what i was thinking with Heritage Hi #. we all know how that turned out

Heritage sets had 100 cards plus an auto for $100. If these are 10+1, then they should be $9.99, or $14.99 at most IMO.

It will be a crazy price, and they will sell out despite the animosity that is sure to come with it.

The did the same eleven card format with Magic football. I believe they sold it for $19.99.

I'd put money on $19.99. 2012 Topps Magic was $19.99 for 10 cards including 1 autograph.


I loved the parallel autographs from the on-card sets.

2013 Topps Turkey Red (Website Exclusive This Year)

Turkey Red is coming … and it arrives in a week.

As previously reported, Topps is releasing an edition of Turkey Red baseball cards this year exclusively as a ShopTopps.com item and it’s set to arrive in just one week, on Feb. 18.

Each 11-card $20 box will include one autograph and a selection of 10 cards from a 100-card base set in the familiar look of the past cards. There will be 43 signers for the product and Black parallels of autos limited to 10 as well as 1/1 Red parallels. Also to be found are printing plates. Pre-orders begin tomorrow and the product will ship next week. There is a limit of 25 boxes per household.


Among the signers, according to Topps, will be Mike Trout, Yoenis Cespedes, Yu Darvish and Will Middlebrooks to name a few players.

Not the strongest auto checklist, but the price is right. Basically a $20 blaster with a guaranteed autograph and 10 singles that might have some value and the possibility of nice parallels. Seems like a good deal to me.

Maybe 5 autos worth the price of admission.

I still think this is going to blow up and be a $40 resale box.
