Card #15 of Albert Spalding pictures his son, also named Albert Spalding (Junior), the famous violinist, and not the baseball player on front. I was looking through Albert Spalding listings on eBay and when I saw the card, I thought "Al Spalding never played without a moustache."
Original photo of Al Spalding, Jr. (violinist) from George Grantham Bain Collection (Library of Congress).
At least they got the right Spalding on the back.
I have to believe this is the first time ever a ball player was mistaken for a violinist!
