Good article and it's sad that too many can't get past the "primarily a DH" piece of Edgar's career. He WAS a good defensemen when he played in the field and the MLB is better off for having the DH position to allow guys like Edgar to continue to play when injuries almost end a career.

But you know, I guess if people think that the MLB would have been better off not having had the careers of guys like Jim Thome, Frank Thomas, Paul Molitor, Harold Baines, Chili Davis, etc., then more power to those people. I know that over the many years Edgar played DH, I would have much rather watched him bat over Randy Johnson, Chris Bosio, Jamie Moyer, etc. But that's just me.
