Thurman Munson? When exactly was that issued? If during his playing career, what had he really done to merit a lifetime pass? If posthumously... WTF?

probably received it because he was a superstar athlete from what I can tell (he died when I was eight and before I was into baseball so I don't remember his playing days).

as for the pass, I'm surprised it's that "rare". I always assumed whoever worked at some executive level in a front office or any player that made a MLB debut got one of those cards. The article makes it appear it was not handed out as freely as I thought.
