Post the specific answer I'm looking for before the clock strikes 6pm tonight (Eastern time), and you'll be rewarded handsomely.

I will not confirm or deny any responses until after the deadline passes. Good luck.

Tony Lazzeri did it.
So did Bucketfoot Al
Prince Hal came oh so close
The Iron Horse did as well
Freddie Lindstrom, for sure
Jimmy Collins even fits the bill
Frank "Home Run" Baker...in more ways than one
Don't forget about Gettysburg Eddie
Or Roger Connor for that matter
But Catfish Hunter may be the longest shot of all
Jesse Haines sounded like he wanted to do it
Duke Snider didn't even bother
Hank Greenberg didn't either
Teddy Ballgame was warm, but not even close

All were rooted by a single commonality, one that mirrored a lifetime of accolades as a member of the baseball's inner circle.

This is tough, I'm wrong, but I figure I'll say something...

Each was the highest paid player in baseball for at least one season?

Jesse Haines-Clayton/Daytom
Teddy-both warm cities

Time is up. Unfortunately, DMScards had the right answer, but his edit came after the deadline.

As a consolation, he wins $25. Please PM with your Paypal address.

Nice work!
